Spit on the Creator Blues

by Jeremiah Nighthawk Taylor

Now it’s no different nowadays. It’s always been the same.
God made this situation and he’s the one to blame.
War, flood and famine; throw in rape and pillage too.
Who can we find to take it out on? Where’s the nearest Jew?

Cause you know you’re singin’ the spit on the creator blues.

Now you know you create yourself and you make all the rules.
Who is gonna tell you different? What a bunch of fools!
Boogie-woogie, get on down, pick your favorite sin.
There ain’t no time for supplication, let Holy Joe say his amens!

Cause you know what you’re singin’, the spit on the creator blues.

Satan’s always ringin’ your door bell.  Don’t let him in now!

Now round and round and round we go and we never stop,
For we refuse to bow our knees for the only righteous Pop!
Sin and suffer, suffer sin, ever since our birth.
Sin that leaves you high and dry. Tell me! What is it worth?

Cause you know you’re singin’ them blues.

Now you justify when men rise up and take their brothers’ lives.
You show hate to your neighbors, and their cheatin’ on their wives.
You call it winnin’ when you get your foot on someone’s throat,
And they’re pryin’ off your fingers when you hang on their lifeboat.

Cause you know what you’re singin’, the spit on the creator blues.

Now soon enough each one of us is gonna breathe his last.
The soul will leave the body when our time on earth has past.
So now you oughta think on Him, ‘fore lookin’ in His face.
There ain’t no need to live degraded without His love and grace.

Cause you know then you won’t be singin’ them blues!
